Prayer for World Peace

Eternal God, we lift our voices in prayer for world peace and unity. Our world is fragmented, torn apart by conflicts and misunderstandings among countries, cultures, and families. We ask that you would bring people especially leaders together regardless of their differences. Help us to celebrate diversity and recognize the inherent worth and dignity of every woman, man, and child. Break down the walls that divide us, whether they are cultural, racial, political or religious. Let love and understanding be the bridges that unite us. Ignite a spirit of cooperation and collaboration as we work towards the peaceable kingdom. Lord, may your love bind us together, creating a tapestry of peace and unity without war and hatred.
We pray.
Amen.

Felician Center 2024 Enrichments

“Anxious about what is waiting behind the drawn window shade, curious about what I will discover in the hidden folds of her (New Year) days.” These words are taken from Joyce Rupp, member of the Servite community and spiritual writer.
At this writing we are 6 weeks beyond Christmas and six weeks from Easter. Let us take some time to reflect on what allows life to have greater meaning. Let us look for graced moments where we can find hope amidst a chaotic world and nation.
And so, we celebrate the greats in Martin Luther King, Jr., George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and numerous black and white and native American and Asian historic persons representing peace, justice, leadership, honesty.

We learn and study about Christian greats St. Paul Mikki, St. Josephine Bahkita, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. John Newman, St. Patrick, St. Joseph. These spiritual heroes and heroines lead us to better ways of living.
The Nutrition classes for adults that have been added offer strategies to enhance healthy lifestyles.
The children in the Learning Center program have celebrated a festive Valentine Day and will visit the Williamsburg Historical Museum at the end of the month for a Black History program. Balancing the educational, spiritual celebrations of our lives nurtures healthy growth. Remember it does takes a whole village.

As Needs Expand

Felician Center Grows

With each new year, the needs of the underserved expanded and so did the pool of volunteers to support, organize and conduct new facets of the Felician Center. God’s blessings guided the steps as one thing led to another and the need for “space” became an issue.
In November 2011, the Felician Center Board sponsored its first fundraiser and held the groundbreaking for a new outreach center.

What Folks Are Saying....

The Felician Center offers all types of service for the community. Those services are very helpful and appreciated - food, education, home goods, and more. Thanks again.

I just want to say thank you to St. Felix pantry. Many of us have little amount of Social Security. After I pay all our bills, there is not much left for food. This pantry is truly a Big Help.

This center has been doing an amazing job for the community and beyond. I love the service that they give. I leave with a blessing and a smile each time.

The sisters see the needs in our community and somehow they are able to meet them.

I thank the sisters for all they have done for my family, our town and the surrounding area. I thank God for them. God bless you all.
